Braces

Submitted by admin on January 2, 2010

I’m 38 years old. When I was a child I had braces on my upper teeth but not on my bottoms and I’d like to get them now. Braces today are so different from how they were when I was a child. Can you explain what some of my options are?

There are a number of options available to you. Clear brackets which are sometimes called ceramic braces can be fitted and have an excellent appearance. Damon braces are a system which often provides slightly quicker treatment time and longer appointment intervals to minimise the amount of time off work you need to come and attend your appointments. Lingual braces are braces fitted on the inside surfaces of your teeth and provide optimal aesthetics, as no-one will know you are wearing fixed braces. Invisalign may also be an option, and this will straighten your teeth without the need to wear fixed braces and it’s removable.
