What type of skin or skin issues most benefits from a chemical peel?

Chemical peels are often used to rejuvenate the skin and give a freshened appearance. The principles of the technique have existed for many years with evidence that Cleopatra used natural peeling agents to maintain her beauty. Aging and sun blemishes of the face result in changes in dis-colouration including pigment, increased pore size and of course wrinkles. Chemical peels enables the more youthful underlying skin to come to the surface, this skin has a younger appearance with less skin blemishes, smaller pores and fewer wrinkles and sun spots. The depth of the peel can be tailored to have additional effects, with deeper peels resulting in greater rejuvenation. The post-peel period is also of significant importance, keeping out of the sun is essential to maintain the rejuvenated look. Commonly a single is a good option for a single period of peeling, and sometimes a series of lighter peels can be used to greater effect by rejuvenating the appearance over a period of weeks.
