Is it possible braces will ll go back to their original position later in my life?

If I get braces now to fix my crooked teeth, is it possible that they’ll go back to their original position later in my life?

The most important part of orthodontic treatment is the retainers. All patients who have had orthodontic treatment must wear retainers after they have finished with their active treatment.  The teeth need a period to ‘settle’ after the braces are removed during which time the retainers are worn, normally 6 months full-time wear then 6 months night time wear. Following this first year of retention, we highly recommend that you wear your retainers ideally 2 nights/week for as long as possible to prevent any risk of movement.
