What are Invisalign braces made of?

Submitted by admin on August 11, 2011

What are Invisalign braces made of? How do these braces actually move the teeth? Does treatment with Invisalign braces take longer than treatment with conventional braces?

One of the great advantages of Invisalign braces are that they are removable and fairly discreet. The ‘aligners’ are made of a clear plastic and nearly invisible. You wear a sequence of Invisalign aligners, and each individual Invisalign aligner will move the teeth a small incremental amount, so by the last set of aligners, the teeth will be straighter. The treatment time may be slighter longer than conventional braces but you are not wearing anything fixed onto the teeth.
