The best feeling ever is giving a patient the smile they never dreamt possible – had even perhaps been told wasn’t possible – and seeing how it can transform their confidence and self-esteem. I get a buzz every single day from finding and inventing solutions to what are often seemingly impossible cases, stretching all I’ve encountered previously and harnessing the power of ever-changing technology.
What I love about Orthodontics is how it goes beyond the purely cosmetic – I think of it a bit like ‘engineering for teeth’ – as it’s about correcting the visible as well as a host of invisibles to perfect, protect and preserve my patients’ teeth now and for the future. And knowing that when I’m making those tiny calculations to move each individual tooth, I’m giving my patients the best possible result – finetuning not just their teeth but their overall facial profile too – never loses its shine.
As a Mum of three, I’m especially passionate about protecting children’s teeth, spurred on in the knowledge that tackling any issues early on – with the right treatment option at precisely the right time – can be a gamechanger, not just for their smile now but for the long-term health and strength of their teeth throughout their adult lives.
My wonderful children are the light in my every day. Having had all 3 of them since I first set up my own practice has been something of a juggling act at times, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. In my free time, I like nothing more than to be outdoors, running, cycling or playing tennis… plus I never turn down the chance for a bit of a dance!

My name is Poppy and I have been working in dentistry for over 10 years, qualifying as a dental nurse in 2008 and then continuing my further education in dental radiography. At present, I am studying orthodontic nursing and wish to achieve in becoming an orthodontic therapist. I have an enthusiasm for working with and helping others. I thrive to bring a professional standard with a smile at Welcome Orthodontics. In my spare time, I enjoy training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and have competed a number of times, coming second in the British Nationals in 2018 and competed in the European championships, January 2020 in Lisbon. I will continue my journey in dentistry and Brazilian Jui-Jitsu, always learning and developing while meeting and making new friendships along the way.
I joined the practice in 2015 after travelling in Australia and moving to London. I started as a receptionist and quickly realised that I loved to meet and assist patients throughout their treatment journey, so when I was offered the role of Treatment Coordinator, I jumped at the chance! I am very proud to have grown within the practice over the years and really enjoy my role in such a professional and friendly practice. Each day is rewarding, especially when patients leave with a big smile! I trained in Jewellery design at university and like to keep this as a hobby and make jewellery, but mostly my spare time is now spent going on long walks with my cockapoo puppy!
My name is Stefka and I have been working in the clinic for the last 8 years. It is a pleasure to work here. I love our patients and I am so pleased to see them so happy at the end of the treatment, with a smile which can open the doors and improve the world around them.In my spare time I love spending time with friends, reading books and traveling to explore the world.
My journey at the practice started at a very beginning when I joined as an orthodontic nurse. After obtaining my qualifications in Dental nursing and Dental radiography I’ve furthered my career as an Orthodontic therapist qualifying in 2014 from King’s College London. My work is always exciting, challenging and creative. I’m proud to be a part of the team that transforms the smiles and lives of our patients. It’s rewarding to see the beautiful smiles I’ve helped to create under the guidance of Dr Chaw Su Kyi. I’m honoured to be working in such a wonderful practice!
Your orthodontic consultation will only be carried out by Dr Kyi; a specialist orthodontist who has undergone extensive and specialized post-graduate training, which enables her to provide professional and proficient treatment for her patients. Dr Kyi is a highly experienced specialist devoting her time to only working in her field of specialist orthodontic training.
Many patients feel more comfortable knowing that their orthodontist is not only uniquely trained in the sub-speciality of orthodontics but also very knowledgeable about the teeth and smile.
We appreciate that a beautiful smile means much more than just straight teeth. Whether a problem is routine or extremely complex, we analyze every case in detail and do not perform ‘stock’ treatments. We are known for achieving natural-appearing results that stress elegance over glamour.
From orthodontic supplies to techniques, we don’t cut corners.
You care will be provided by a team of highly trained individuals.
The service we offer requires a certain type of provider, someone attuned to the finest details, thorough yet gentle. An orthodontist alone cannot provide your total care. We are proud of our staff of uniquely skilled individuals, people who are not only intelligent and observant but courteous and helpful.
We devote a great deal of effort educating our patients, both before and during their consultations and before and after any procedure. From patient feedback, we have developed educational videos which show a number of orthodontic procedures. We believe the fundamental importance is excellent oral hygiene and establishing this at a young age. To support this, we have developed oral health education seminars, which we have provided to the local primary schools for over the past six years.
Our practice is less like a clinic and more like a boutique. We cater to one patient at a time in a relaxed setting. While you are with us, our attention is devoted entirely to you. Our consultations are detailed, highly individualized, unhurried, and honest.
While we compete on the basis of quality rather than price, we control your fees by avoiding unnecessary complexity and not trying to “sell” you on added procedures you don’t want or may not even need.
Once we help our patients, our investment is your lifelong smile. So where do our new patients come from? From all across South-East England, some travelling a distance of an 80-mile round-trip. Why do they come to us when they can more conveniently go elsewhere? Because of our reputation with other dentists and former patients for treating our clientele with respect and providing thoughtful high-quality care.
