Getting porcelain veneers is one of the best ways to improve the quality of your smile. The teeth veneers procedure is quick and easy and produces beautiful results instantly. In this post, Drs. Chaw-Su Kyi, Sepideh Heydarian and Sneha Kubal from West London Orthodontist Cosmetic Dental Studios in West London, UK, answer your questions about veneers to help you make an informed decision about this treatment. Â
Veneers are cosmetic coverings for your teeth, designed to conceal dental flaws that make your smile less appealing. These thin porcelain shells look like your natural teeth without the blemishes. Once bonded to your teeth, they blend in, giving your smile an authentic, natural-looking appearance.Â

With veneers, we can make your smile look younger, fuller, brighter, healthier, and more aesthetically pleasing.
We will assess your oral health and the state of your teeth to determine the cosmetic issues that need to be addressed. We’ll discuss your options for veneers, set smile goals and map out a plan to achieve them. During this initial visit, we’ll prep your teeth by removing a thin enamel layer for veneer placement.Â
Once your teeth are prepped, we’ll take impressions to send to a lab where custom veneers are created. In the meantime, we’ll protect your teeth with temporary veneers. When your porcelain veneers are ready, we’ll call you back to our clinic to have them permanently bonded to your teeth, giving your smile the beautiful look you’ve always wanted.   Â
With good oral care, porcelain veneers can last 10 to 15 years. Good oral hygiene and routine cleaning are the basics of veneer care. It also helps to eat a healthy diet and shun poor habits like chewing on ice, nail-biting, and opening bottles or packages with your teeth. If you grind your teeth, consult our dentists about a custom night guard to avoid damaging your veneers.Â
